The opening ceremony on Wednesday marked the start to the third annual Multicultural Film Festival in Seoul‚ which officially kicks off Thursday.
This event first started in 2009‚ for foreign residents and Koreans to embrace multiculturalism and understand different cultures.
But this year's event is up for a change compared to previous years.

The opening film‚ the "Three Idiots"‚ is a Bollywood comedy released in 2009 starring Aamir Khan‚ which was a mega box office hit in India.
The movie talks about the current issues of Indian society such as education‚ marriage and work with a comic touch.
[Interview : Kim Han-ul‚ chkim@arirang.co.kr] "During the festival‚ foreign residents in Korea will also be able to enjoy Korean movies with Japanese and English subtitles."
And foreign movie goers were thrilled to hear about watching movies with English subtitles.
[Interview : Enes Kaya‚ Expatriate from Turkey] "Foreign people‚ if they cannot speak Korean‚ they don't watch Korean movies because they don't have Korean subtitles and so that will be good for foreigner people too‚ if they have English subtitles."
A total of 13 movies from 9 countries‚ including the Hong Kong film "Missing" and European films such as "Young Victoria" from the UK and "Sarah's Key" from France‚ will be shown during the two-week festival in two theaters in Seoul.
