North Korean leader Kim Jong-il's son and heir apparent Kim Jong-un has allegedly undergone six plastic surgeries.
At a meeting on the human rights situation in North Korea held in London on Monday‚ the President of Open Radio for North Korea Young Howard said that according to a senior government official in Pyeongyang‚ Kim Jong-un underwent six surgeries over three years before he was officially recognized as the heir apparent last September.
Howard explained that the surgeries could help boost Kim Jong-un's image as the next leader as he now looks more like his grandfather‚ Kim Il-sung.
He added that the planned power succession is being carefully thought through as Kim Jong-un is reportedly unpopular in the North after the country's failed currency reform.
