A museum featuring the history and natural environment of the DMZ opened in 2009 behind the Civilian Control Line‚ putting itself in the limelight.

Museums and tourist destinations are not the only places where visitors can learn more about the Korean War. Each region in Korea has a variety of events that commemorates the Korean War and wish for peace. Yanggu County in Gangwon Province hosts a memorial festival for veterans every year.
