The second mock election for overseas Koreans will be conducted in 158 overseas diplomatic posts in 108 countries on June 30th.
This is the final mock election before the general election set for April next year.
Overseas Korean nationals and absentees who are 19 or older as of July 8 are eligible to vote‚ and they must bring their Korean passport‚ ballot and envelope to their local embassy between 10am and 5pm‚ local time.
Non-Korean residents who have permanent residency in foreign countries can cast their vote in the proportionate election only‚ in which they will vote for the political parties.
Absentees‚ or Korean residents who do not have permanent residency in foreign countries can vote for individual politicians as well.
About 55-hundred overseas Koreans will participate this time.
Over 10-thousand overseas Koreans registered and about 4-thousand actually voted in the first mock election conducted last November.
There are more than 2.3 million overseas Koreans who will be able to vote in the general election for the first time next year‚ after the election law was revised in 2009.
