Iran claims it has produced 50 kilograms of 20-percent enriched uranium and will produce much more.
Speaking at an international nuclear disarmament conference in Tehran on Sunday‚ Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency Ali-Asghar Soltanieh said the country needs 120 kilograms of enriched uranium to provide fuel for research reactors.
He also said that Tehran will speed up the enrichment process because the reactors need nuclear fuel to produce radioisotopes for cancer treatment.
