With the Korean Wave‚ or Hallyu‚ spreading rapidly around the world‚ more people are becoming interested in Korea. And to help travelers better understand Korea‚ while also introducing some hot spots‚ the classic traveler's book‚ the Michelin Guide has been published for the first time in France.
The guide explains that bosintang‚ or sacheoltang is a dog-meat based soup dish.
It adds that‚ although there are sometime misunderstandings‚ dog-meat is a traditional recipe used in China and Vietnam as well.
The guide also notes that motels in Korea are superb value and are characterized by Baroque style exteriors.
According to the guide‚ Korean style saunas‚ or Jjimjilbangs‚ are places where you can share fun experiences with friends.
It also also points out that "you can never imagine a decent dinner without a shot of Soju"
As for recommended cultural and historic sites‚ the guide gives three stars to 23 places including Gyeongbok and Changdeok Palaces in Seoul and Haein Temple in South Gyeongsang Province.
