Muslim women in France will soon have to show their faces in public as France's 'burqa veils ban' comes into effect on April 11th.
Under the new law it will be illegal for women to wear the niqab or full-face Muslim veil in almost any public place.
Streets‚ shops‚ banks‚ museums‚ train stations and schools are among the areas outlined as face-veil free zones.
Only one's home place of worship and private car will be exempted.
Since the law officially bans "covering one's face in public places" exemptions were ordered for motorcycle helmets or sports equipment.
Violators will be fined 150 euros or roughly 209 US dollars.
However according to the law citizens may not enforce the rule on their own as one teacher was convicted for attempting to rip the face veil off of a Muslim tourist.
French police say reports of violations must go through them.
