A report out of Britain claims that Korea is remaining quiet on the political turmoil in Libyaas it is worried about damaging its exports to the North African country.
The Financial Times newspaper said Thursday that Korean construction companies have 53 projects worth around 10.7 billion US dollars under way in Libya.
It says that the Korean government has not officially and clearly criticized the Libyan government's violent crackdown on protestors as it could cause damage to Korea's exports and markets.
The newspaper went on to say that Korean building companies are dominating the Middle Eastern construction industry‚ adding that the Korean firms may be evacuating workers now‚ but they will return to complete their projects.
