He has been famous for making absurd statements and he recently made great hits on-line.
Let's take a look.
The Arab world's longest serving leader Muammar Gadhafi has enjoyed 4-decade-long autocratic power but his people are beginning to feel the wind of change blowing across the region.
Better known as Colonel Muammar Gadhafi the Libyan leader has been a showmanlike figure with his penchant for Bedouin tents‚ heavily armed female bodyguards and Ukraininan nurses.
Gadhafi's quirky style is unique carrying his tent with him on trops abroad and surrounding himself with women bodyguards ignorning the traditions of his conservative society.
During his first visit to the United States in 2009 Gadhafi addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York with a speech which clocked in at 1-hour and 35 minutes.
He touched upon various topics ranging from vaccinations for children to the assasination of US President John F. Kennedy.
But he also condemned the UN Security Council permanent members' veto power.
[Interview : ] "Now the Security Council is security feudalism‚ political feudalism for those who have permanent seats. They are against us. It should not be called the Security Council‚ it should be called the Terror Council."
And despite the fact that it is uncertain to measure Gadhafi's popularity in his own country is uncertain he is a worldwide hit on the Internet.
The challenged Libyan leader is now being the main source of various parodies that have gone viral.
On YouTube a video mocking Gadhafi's recent speech with a "Looney Tunes" version is making a great hit.
Despite the ongoing protests against him and growing international pressure to step down Gadhafi recently told a group of foreign reporters that he is still beloved in his country and denied the existence of any demonstration against him.
Although his people make calling for him to leave Gadhafi is certainly popular as a source of parody.
