It's a crowded field for the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize with the organizing committee announcing a record-breaking number of nominees.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee said Tuesday that there would be 241 nominees this year up from 237 nominations last year.
The list includes an Afghan rights advocate a former German Chancellor a Cuban dissident a Russian activist website WikiLeaks and the Internet itself.
Members of parliament from around the world‚ science professors and previous winners had until February 1st to make their nominations.
The Nobel Committee will announce the winner in October and award the prize in a ceremony on December 10th.
The winner will receive 10 million Swedish kronas which is approximately 1-POINT-58 million US dollars.
