The Korean government is reviewing a contingency plan to mitigate the economic impact on the country from growing unrest in Libya.
Special task forces have been formed to cope with soaring oil prices and should the price exceed 1-hundred-30 US dollars a barrel‚ the government plans to cut taxes and introduce other measures that will help ease the burden on low-income families.
The contingency plan calls for close monitoring of other economic areas as well including the financial market and inflation.
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy has also raised the energy alert level from 'blue' to 'yellow' which limits power usage in public buildings during certain times of day.
