Seoul Grand Park and three other zoos in or near the capital are set to reopen tomorrow‚ as foot and mouth disease vaccinations for animals in the parks have now been completed.
With the worrying spread of FMD and avian influenza in the country they have been closed since early this month and the city of Seoul has beefed up its sanitation and disease control within the zoos.
Seoul Grand Park plans to keep cloven-hoofed and even-toed animals like elephants and giraffes indoors and have barriers installed to prevent visitors from getting too close to the animals that cannot be kept indoors.
Visitors are also advised to refrain from feeding and coming into close contact with the animals.
