Europe's largest technology fair the IFA 2010 kicked off in Berlin‚ Germany as Samsung unveiled its first ever tablet computer‚ the Galaxy Tab on Thursday.
This 7-inch touchscreen "iPad killer" supports both wireless-fidelity or WiFi and 3-G cellular connectivity.
It also has a 3.2-megapixel camera with flash and a front-facing camera for video calls something missing from Apple's hit-selling tablet.
The Galaxy Tab runs Google's Android 2.2 operating system and unlike the iPad‚ it is capable of displaying websites with Flash for multimedia features.
Samsung expects to sell through some major US‚ European and Asian carriers and although pricing for the product is still unknown the company plans to coordinate affordable pricing with phone operators soon.

Samsung's mobile business sector] "Web browsing‚ e-reading‚ watching TV or videos‚ and listening to music will be a very smooth and natural experience with Galaxy Tab."
Although Samsung's launch of its new tablet is creating much excitement among tech lovers analysts feel that the company still has a difficult task to overcome considering that Apple has sold more than 3 million iPads since its April 3rd launch.
With all eyes on how the two will compete in this competitive market Samsung's Galaxy Tab will start selling here in Korea later this month with Apple's iPad also expected to land in Korea soon.
