15th century Joseon Dynasty.
A legendary flute that attracts apparitions is stolen by an evil spirit.
Three wizards decide to request help from Hwadam‚ a well-known ascetic at the time.
But Hwadam arrives at the scene of the crime to find out that it was actually another ascetic who stole the magical flute.
Jeon Woochi is not your typical ascetic!
Woochi is talented‚ but he is also a major troublemaker.
The three wizards and Hwadam seek out Woochi to get the flute back from him.
That's when Woochi's teacher Cheongwan comes to the rescue.
Hwadam and Cheongwan sit down for a cup of tea‚ and in the end‚ the two agree on splitting the flute in half for safekeeping.
But that night Cheongwan is killed because of the flute that he was protecting.
Woochi is blamed for his own teacher's death and is sentenced to 500 years in a picture scroll.
He brings Hwadam's half of the flute with him.
Five hundred years pass.
The three wizards who have been keeping a low profile‚ bring Woochi back to life so he can help them catch evil spirits on the loose.
He accepts the wizards' request‚ and within minutes of his newfound freedom‚ the evil spirits come attacking.
Although he's been locked inside a scroll for five centuries‚ Woochi unleashes his magic without a second's hesitation.
In-gyeong‚ his one and only love from 500 years ago appears in front of his very eyes.
"Woochi" is packed with nonstop action scenes‚ and it brings Korean classics and modern-day entertainment together.
