President Parvanov's three-day state visit to Korea which began on Sunday comes five months ahead of the 20th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
The Korean leader said during their summit meeting that he believes the Korea-EU free trade accord will bolster trade between Korea and European countries‚ particularly those in Eastern Europe.

Bulgaria‚ which gained EU membership in 2007‚ is a country whose gross domestic product in 2008 totaled almost 52 billion US dollars.
And bilateral trade between Korea and Bulgaria reached close to 215 million dollars last year.
On the sidelines of the summit‚ the two countries signed agreements paving the way for more exchanges in human resources and culture.
The two countries' representatives also signed another agreement promising to ensure the protection of classified military information.
