A former prisoner of war who fled North Korea in August is reportedly being detained by the Chinese government.
According to a South Korean civic group supporting North Korean defectors the veteran in his 80s is in a hospital in China and a high-ranking official in Seoul says the government is working several channels to win his release.
Meanwhile South Korea's YTN reports citing a lawmaker that as of the end of last month some 100 North Korean defectors have been deported back to their country from China this year.
