With less than a week left before German voters go to the polls the battle for the Bundestag is heating up.
With the national election to take place this coming Sunday German Chancellor Angela Merkel who is looking to win a second term in office has a lot on her mind.
The German chancellor is reportedly mulling over whether to break away from her grand coalition with the center-left Social Democrats a party headed by Frank-Walter Steinmeier who is Merkel's rival in this week's election.
Merkel is hoping for a new coalition with the business-friendly Free Democrats as the issue of economic recovery will remain an important agenda item for the next government.
