You-sun‚ I hear North Korea is planning to send a group of delegates to Seoul offer their condolences[Reporter : ] In a press briefing earlier on Wednesday‚ Democratic lawmaker and former chief of staff Park Jie-won said that Pyeongyang has sent a second telegram saying that it wishes to send a group of five delegates to Seoul.
Here's the telegram from Pyeongyang read by the lawmaker during the briefing.
[Interview : Park Jie-won‚ Democratic Party member] "Kim Jong-il sent his message of condolence yesterday upon news of former President Kim Dae-jung's passing and has decided to send a group of delegates to the South. The delegation plans to deliver flowers sent from the North Korean leader. The trip will likely last one or two days. While the group will travel south by plane‚ it asks the family of the late president and his former aides to decide on the exact time frame of the trip."
"김정일 국방위원장님께서는 이미 어제 김대중 전대통령의 사망소식이 보도되는 즉시 자신의 존함으로 된 조전을 보내시고 특사 조의 방문단을 파견하도록 해 주셨습니다. 김정일 국방위원장께서 보내시는 화환을 특사 조의방문단이 가지고 갈 것입니다. 체류일정은 당일로 하며 필요하면 1박 2일로 예견하고 있습니다. 방문날짜는 장례식 전으로 하되 유가족 측과 임동원 박지원 선생의 의향을 따르는 것으로 하겠습니다. 내왕경로는 우리측 특별 비행기를 이용하여 서해직항으로 할 것입니다."
Has there been a decision made regarding the venue for the upcoming funeral and the official memorial altar[Reporter : ] The plaza in front of the National Assembly has been selected as the official venue for President Kim's funeral service and the remains of the late president currently laid here at the Severance Hospital will be transferred to the National Assembly Thursday morning.
An official website has been set up that will provide detailed information about the upcoming funeral in both Korean and English and will also feature various photographs and video files of the late president.
Web users can also post their farewell messages on the site.
Who has visited the hospital since this morning[Reporter : ] Over 5-thousand mourners have visited Severance Hospital since Tuesday afternoon to pay their final respects to the late president.
Former President Chun Doo-hwan arrived at the hospital at just past 10 a.m. and left shortly after expressing his condolences.
And Prime Minister Han Seung-soo arrived at around 11:30 a.m.
