Korea confirmed its first case of the H1N1 flu virus on this Saturday and health authorities are worried it could be a prelude to an epidemic as two more Koreans are suspected of infection.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that a 51-year-old woman has tested positive for the influenza.
She is believed to have contracted the deadly flu virus last month when she was in Mexico for volunteer work.
She has been treated with an antiviral drug and now shows no symptoms associated with the new strain of the virus.
Health authorities are closely monitoring the two other people who have come down with probable cases of the flu.
One of them got sick after coming in close contact with the confirmed patient.
