The number of singles in Korea has been rising steadily amid changing lifestyles and social attitudes during the last decade.
The Korea National Statistical Office says there are at least six million Koreans living alone.
And singles between the ages of 26 and 35 comprise about one-sixth of that group or 1-million people as of this year.
With this emergence of the single-person demographic as a key consumer a wide range of businesses are coming up with innovative ways to meet the needs of this powerful group.

Washing and drying can be done with ease thanks to simple instructions and creative facilities provided such as game slots and a massage chair to keep customers busy during the hourlong washing and drying session.

Other singles-related businesses like beauty clinics and fitness clubsare also on the rise closely following the single person's tendency to invest time and money on him or herself.
Pet-related pursuits‚ such as canned delicacies‚ expert vets and beauty parlors for canine care are enjoying a reasonable amount of success in the market as well raking in as much as 1 trillion won or roughly one billion US dollars in recent years.
Dining spots like the Gogichon Plus Bar in western Seoul provide unique marketing strategies to accommodate the single diner such as smart bar seating and special set menus geared toward singles.
