With this Chung said this year's election comes down to a choice between conservative corruption versus democracy.
Chung then traveled to the Chungcheong region.
Lee Myungbak‚ meanwhile‚ went to Daejeon and the surrounding Chungcheong provinces amid polls showing that he will easily win the election.
His lead with around 40 percent of public support solidified this week when the Seoul prosecution cleared him of financial fraud allegations in the BBK scandal.
Lee Myungbak met with small restaurant owners and taxi drivers saying that he's ready to lift the country out of a slow economy.
Independent candidate‚ Lee Hoichang held a press conference in Asan city in South Chungcheong Province.
He criticized the result of the BBK investigation and urged the GNP candidate to confess his wrongdoings.
Then‚ Lee Hoichang‚ who ranks second in the polls‚ took his campaign bandwagon to Yeosu.
Kwon Youngghil of the Democratic Labor Party targeted Gyeongsang provinces by visiting Ulsan and Gyeongju.
Lhee Inje of the Democratic Party flew to Jeju island.
Moon Kookhyun of the Renewal of Korea Party's campaign tour focused on the central region‚ visiting Suwon‚ Daejeon and Cheongju‚ where he emphasized he would be an economy-focused president.
