요약정보
It almost seemed like the warm weather would never end here in Korea‚ but Mother Nature now appears to be back in her usual cycle.
Temperatures nationwide have taken a sharp dip this week following a bout of rain over the weekend.
Our Park Soojin was in the downtown area to see how Seoulites are coping with the sudden cold.
Thick sweaters and scarves finally emerged to daylight from dark closets across Korea.
After weeks of exceptionally warm weather‚ the mercury took a nosedive following rain showers over the weekend.
PARK SOOJIN‚ REPORTER: "Nippy breezes in the mornings and evenings are a sure sign that colder temperatures are here to stay. But clear autumn skies and crisp air make up perfect conditions for a walk outside‚ to enjoy the remaining days of this beautiful season."
Among the most popular spots around this time in capital Seoul is a historic district near ages-old royal palaces surrounded by quiet and scenic paths covered with fallen leaves.
SEOUL RESIDENT: "Although there's a short cut‚ I decided to take this old stone walkway along Duksoo Palace to reminisce about old times before fall fades away."
SEOUL RESIDENT: "It's nice and sunny during the day but very chilly in the evenings. Kind of sad that autumn's so short."
The change in season is often most apparent in people's fashion.
While Mother Nature gets ready to strip bare of her leafy attire‚ people have begun bundling up.
SEOUL RESIDENT: "It's gotten really cold so I took out my boots and fur jacket. Feels nice and warm."
A sudden drop in temperatures has prompted both young and old to don extra layers to ward off the growing chill.
Despite the arrival of colder weather‚ however‚ Koreans have a few more weeks yet to soak up the autumn sunshine before the warm rays dissipate in the frigid air.
