And back here in Northeast Asia America's first lady Michelle Obama is in Japan in a three-day trip to promote education for girls around the world.
It's part of her initiative called "Let Girls Learn" which will also take her to Cambodia later today.
Obama arrived in Tokyo on Wednesday.
She was greeted by Japan's Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at the Imperial Palace before meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
She and Japan's first lady Akie Abe pledged to strengthen their cooperation to give more girls globally an opportunity at education which she credited for her own successes.//
Meanwhile‚ Japanese police arrested a 52-year-old man from Okinawa who could be tied to the telephone threats made to the U.S. embassy last month against the life of Ambassador Caroline Kennedy.
News of the threats had emerged as Michelle Obama arrived in Tokyo.
