Sabha residents say the Tabu and Arab Abu Seif tribes have been exchanging fire with automatic rifles‚ mortars‚ and rockets for nearly a week now.
The clashes in the oasis region‚ some 650 kilometers south of Tripoli‚ demonstrate the lack of authority by the Libyan government‚ particularly in the isolated settlements that dot the southern desert.
