Academy award winner‚ mother of multi-ethnic adopted children‚ partner of Brad Pitt‚ human rights campaigner‚ goodwill ambassador for the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR the list of adjectives for Angelina Jolie goes on.
Her latest titles are writer and director.
Jolie is currently busy shooting a film in Budapest‚ Hungary.
The screenplay written by the multi-talented star is about a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who meet and fall in love on the eve of the Bosnian war.
Filming is scheduled to be concluded in November in Bosnia‚ but Jolie and her crew are facing some setbacks.
The president of the Women Victims of War Association objected to film as she perceived the scenario as a story about a victim that falls in love with her torturer.
Jolie sent a letter to the group to assure them that the movie is a love story that does not meddle in politics surrounding the war the killed 100 thousand people between 1992 and 1995.
Angelina Jolie will be meeting with the women's group in person to personally reassure them about the movie's content.
One of Italy's most popular monuments is the colosseum of Rome.
And as an increasing number of tourists flock to visit it every year‚ more parts of it will continue to open itself to the public.
Most recently‚ some parts of the underground chambers and upper third tier of the monument welcomed tourists for the first time.
These bowels of the Roman amphitheater were once used to house wild beasts before they were transported up by lifts to the central fighting arena.
Its underground passageways led to gladiatorial fighting schools and others were used for corpse removal.
The need to open up larger areas to the public rose with more than 18 thousand visitors passing through the colosseum every day‚ leaving little room for everyone to fully enjoy the magnificent monument.
