[Reporter : w:slim] A brother and sister team from Argentina has decided to put a little fashion into old tires.
Every major city in the world has thousands of tires on their way to the garbage dump.
But these two designers want to put the tires on a little detourto the fashion runways as handbags‚ purses‚ belts and other accessories.
The two first started making belts from the innertubes of car tires when they wanted to experiment with recycled goods.
Debora and Robert Piwnica founded Neumatica which means 'tire' in Spanish in 2004.
Their tires come from cars‚ trucks‚ bicycles and buses.
No parts are wasted.
Even parts with patches and valves are visible to give their designs a more authentic feel.
Roberto says his designs are a small contribution to recycle some of the more than 100‚000 tons of tires that are disposed of in Argentina each year.
The tires are cleaned brushed waxed and polished before the design duo transforms the pieces together.
The two say the wear and tear on each tire makes each work a one of a kind.
The two won the Puro Diseno award in 2008 and exhibited at Berlin FashionWeek in 2009.

That involves working well with your hands and thinking clearly under pressure.
That can be hard when wearing a helmet in the hot Iraqi son.
The training exercises were conducted at one of the biggest US miliatary bases in Iraq located north of Baghdad.
Violence has fallen sharply in Iraq since the 2003 US-led invasion.
However bombs remain a deadly killer in the region.
Last month‚ a bomb disposal accident killed 11 Iraqi troops in Northern Iraq.
