Moving onit was announced that South Korea will compete at an international sporting event for military athletes in Brazil this month.
The Defense Ministry said 92 athletes and 71 officials will compete at the fifth Military World Games in Rio de Janeiro from July 16th to 24th.
Now only is the event designed to encourage military athletics but is also desgined to boost friendly relations among the world's armed forces.
The ministry said the Rio event will draw about 8‚000 athletes and officials from 110 countries in 20 different sports.
And South Korea will host the next Military Games in the year 2015 in the southeastern town of Mun-gyeong.
Wrapping upit was announced that the world's second fastest man Tyson Gay underwent hip surgery and will miss out for the rest of the 2011 season.
Gay had hoped to race Jamaica's Usain Bolt at the world championships in Daegu but was forced to withdraw from the U.S. world trials last month due to an injury on his right hip.
The American will now focus on recovering and preparing for the 2012 London Olympics and a much anticipated showdown with Bolt.
And although Gay is one of the top sprinters of all-time‚ he has incidentally never won an Olympic medal.
