American football is one sport that remains one of the few sports that retain a strong fanbase in the US but not around the world.
But the Pittsburgh Steelers is one NFL team that is well known around the world.
Park Ju-young is on a roll scoring his fifth goal of the season against Lyon.
Trailing 1-0‚ Monaco was struggling a bit after Michel Bastos got Lyon off to a good start but with just ten minutes left before the end of the first half‚ Park hit the net equalizing with the only score of the match for Monaco.
A second opportunity to bring the score to 2-1 came up but Park spooned it over the net failing to add for the win.
Ki Sung-yong is an official member now of the Celtics as his official introduction was held.
The Scotland professional soccer team‚ Celtic FC have presented Ki with his uniform and his new number and Ki will now be running with the number 18 from now on.
Although the NFL hasn't become a hit in Korea just yet‚ many eyes do follow this man‚ Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ward has been an awesome performer and an invaluable assett with the Steelers and is proving it again.
Ward surpassed 1‚000 yards receiving in a season for the sixth time‚ most in Steelers history and during the same game in which he had at least 100 yards receiving for the 25th time in his career.
That tied Hall of Famer John Stallworth for the most by a Steelers player.
Ward took the field in all 14 games of the season so far with 83 receptions amounting to 1‚069 yards and six touchdowns.
Currently‚ Pittsburgh is in third place in the AFC after their 37-36 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
The United States won the 'Duel in the Pool' event with 185 points to the European team's 78‚ and set each of the eight world short course records broken at the Manchester Aquatics Center.
Eight time Beijing Olympic champion Michael Phelps finished the event with just one individual win from four races racing in the textile shorts which will become mandatory beginning next year.
Swimming in a British pool for the first time‚ Phelps declined to be drawn on the suit issue.
Tons of world records dropped at the mercy of the polyurethane suits and with the last days for these suits literally days away‚ many wonder if the performance will suffer.
To cool things off just a bit‚ let's take it to the powder.
Pierre Vaultier of France and Maelle Ricker of Canada are the winners of the Snowboard Cross World Cup Race.
This was Vaultier's second men's snowboard cross race of the season and now leads the world cup standings with 2000 points as does Ricker.
Both athletes are well established in the world of snowboarding and have been consistantly dominating the sport.
Some more bad news for Tiger‚ his sponsor Tag Heuer have decided to downscale the use of Tiger Woods image in advertisments in the coming months.
This is Tiger Woods' second sponsor to be effected.
Soon after the media frenzy about Tiger Woods‚ Accenture dropped Tiger in whole and although not dropped by Tag Heuer‚ this does strike a blow to the player.
