Hello You-sun and Mark Happy Friday For the past couple of days‚ the lingering cold snap has caused extreme weather changes. It's felt like we were going through winter and spring in a single day. But things will start to warm up soon.
That's good news. I've already started to feel the change. Earlier this morning…we were shivering in the cold and yet a few hours later it warmed right up. I guess with the spring weather‚ we'll be better off WITHOUT a winter jacket.
Yes Well‚ it looks like a warm spell is on the way. I'm just glad the cold snap is out of sight for now. I also heard that the cherry blossoms will be blooming earlier this year than last because of the higher temperatures.
That is correct. The cold spell is moving out and the warm air is moving in. And as Mark mentioned the cherry blossoms will start blooming next week starting on Jeju Island due to the unseasonably warm temperatures we've been having. This year the cherry blossoms will peak around late March to early April‚ so keep that in mind if you want to get out to see them. Right now‚ it's warmer than yesterday and the central region will be seeing clear blue skies‚ there will be a few passing clouds down south.
Now‚ more spring sunshine and drier conditions will settle in on Saturday. Expect warmer temperatures as we get back above the seasonal averages. So if you haven’t made any plans for tomorrow… you’d better hurry because this perfect spring weather won’t last long and by Sunday afternoon we'll start to see a bit of precipitation.
Now‚ if we take a look at our satellite map‚
A high pressure system will remain in control‚ with sunny skies and milder temperatures. But dry gusty winds will blow on the east coast.
And finally…checking on today’s readings.
Seoul gets up to 11 degrees in the afternoon.
Daegu and Gwangju jump into the teens for a high of 16 and 15‚ while Busan stays pretty mild at 14.
Jeju Island will hit 13‚ while Daejeon leaps to 14 and Mount Geumgang tops out at 13.
