Team Korea has suffered several days of poor results‚ but they're looking to change that with the start of two events. The women's golf began it's first round‚ and there are high hopes for a medal‚ if not several‚ from the four Korean players‚ who are all ranked within the top ten in the world. Chun In-gee was the first to tee off‚ and recorded a solid even par by hole 14. Former world number one and hall of famer‚ Park Inbee‚ was faring better with a bogey-less minus-two at the halfway point on hole number 9. The Taekwondo competitions kicked off on Wednesday‚ which saw one top 16 win in the women's 49kilo category‚ but there was a disappointing loss for world number two‚ Kim Tae-hun in the mens 58 kilo competition. While these athletes battle it out for Olympic glory‚ there are others who are already receiving a hero's welcome. The multi-medal winning fencing team returned home on Tuesday‚ with fans and media waiting to show their support at Incheon airport. Park Sang-young‚ who won gold in the individual epee and Kim Jung-hwan who won bronze in the sabre‚ were overwhelmed with the response. "To be honest‚ in the final I was thinking to myself‚ silver is OK‚ too. But I also knew that I had trained so hard to this point and this opportunity doesn't come around often‚ so I went for it." The shooting team also returned on the same day‚ and Jin Jong-oh‚ the most decorated Korean Olympian of all time‚ who won gold by making a comeback and taking the lead in the last two shots of the match. "I'm glad I was able to show the appeal of shooting‚ but I'll try to make it less close at the next big event." Korea's taekwondo and golf stars will hopefully succeed in bringing more gold home.
