It was another chilly day here in Seoul. Let's go to the weather center for some updates with our Lee Jee-hyun. Hello‚ Daniel Compared to Tuesday‚ sensory temperatures were higher today hovering near minus 10 degrees Celsius all day long. But it's not just Korea that's being gripped by a cold snap. Other parts of the world including the Eastern U.S.‚ northern Europe and other parts of Asia are also feeling a deep freeze. That's right. And weather experts are saying this phenomenon is associated with the plunging polar vortex -- This large pocket of very cold air which sits over the polar region during the winter has been sweeping down pushing widespread cold to many parts of the country. And it's forecast to be very cold till early next week. Conditions on Thursday will ease up slightly A cold wave advisory for the capital regions has been lifted but cold wave alerts remain for other areas so let's go right into tomorrow's temperatures. Seoul will start out at a low of minus 10 degrees Celsius while Daejeon's low will hit minus 9‚ Gwangju and Busan start off at minus 5 and minus 3. Highs will hover near the freezing point Seoul will make it to minus 3 by afternoon‚ while Daegu and Gwangju rise to minus 2‚ and Busan and Jeju Island will see highs of 4 and 5. The severe cold snap will hit its peak on Sunday with the low plunging to minus 16 degrees so be prepared That's Korea for you and here's a look at weather conditions around the world.
